Nothing too exciting to report from the last coupla days. I saw a very cool guy walking downtown to work today -- he was sort of in the middle of the street and he was singing into his pen and dancing. He seemed very happy, and he made me happy, too. Always good to see people get into their music. Anyway, the cars driving around him didn't seem so happy, but who cares. They should be taking Metro, anyway.
I got to my Metro station way early this morning and had time to stop for an Odwalla, which is a very yummy, if hippie, line of juices. Their strawberry lemonade is the closest thing I've found to my beloved Sonic lemon-berry slush (size medium), so it was a real treat. I drank it while reading the Style section of today's Washington Post, which contained a very interesting article about the Miss America pageant and why it sucks and why the contestants who insist they are not compelled to act fake are big fat (but lipsuctioned) liars. Here's the article if you care to take a look.
Have you noticed how I can make links now? Geoffrey taught me. Yes, soon *I* will be Web Master. (forgive the *I* ... I, um, haven't learned how to code italics yet. Ahem)
A shout-out to Laura D. (not to be confused with Chuck D. from Public Enemy), who is going to do the AIDS Walk in Atlanta next month. You rock, girl. Thanks for doing that.
(Still) LISTENING TO: KELLY WILLIS/Easy. The song "Don't Come the Cowboy With Me, Sonny Jim" has especially caught my ear. Perhaps I will try to learn to play and sing it.
Also heard some of the new COLDPLAY, which so far seems very good. Will pay more attention to it soon.

There is a big empty void in my life. This is because I have beaten Jedi Outcast. Yesiree, beaten the game. Yeah, I'm pretty good at things. Especially video games. The big empty void comes from wondering how to spend all the hours on my days off I used to spend playing. I tried playing again today, just going back through some hard parts, but there's no point. My Jedi days are over, my friends (at least until some new Star Wars game comes out!). Now I have to find some other way to put off doing errands, getting to that creative writing, paying those bills, etc. Boo.
This morning I dyed my hair. Nothing drastic. Basically just the color it naturally is, but hopefully covering up my year-old, grown out highlights and my ever-increasing gray. I still would like to do something crazy, like dyeing the tips blue or something, but not just yet. Geoffrey and I checked out a mall we'd never been to today. It had a Chick-Fil-A, which made me so happy I did a little dance whilst waiting in line. We haven't seen a Chick-Fil-A since we left the dirty South, so it was a little touch of home. Then we saw a mall arcade and I kicked G's ass at Soul Calibur II. Yes, yes, another video game. A fighting game G actually has at home. It's good couples-therapy to virtually beat each other up, I think. At least it WAS good therapy, 'til I started beating him all the time. :)
A shout-out to Ian and Emily, who have rented the cutest little house in Anderson and will soon be shacking up in style. How I miss my old cute Anderson house. Sigh. Also a shout-out to Will, who is at present a sickypants. Feel better soon, sickypants.
QUOTE OF THE DAY (actually from last night): "Holy Christ! The queen of rants has a BLOG!?!?! Suddenly her sphere of influence is infinite. I predict this is the end of life as we know it." -- Sara P., upon hearing news of my new blog.
LISTENING TO: The new Beth Orton -- a few tracks with Ryan Adams, very nice. I wish she would keep more organic, acoustic with her instruments, but overall good stuff.

OK, so about my day. My friends Marcus and Arni from Anderson visited and left this morning. Good to see 'ums. Made me homesick, though. I told them to have Sonic lemon-berry slushes for me. That goes for you, too, if you're near a Sonic. After they left I played me a little Jedi Outcast (a computer game! You get to be a Jedi! And wield a light-saber! And kill storm troopers! And use the Force! Oh, God, I'm a dork.) and did chores. Geoffrey got a cell phone today -- his first ever. He's totally going to be a cell phone boy. And by that I mean one who downloads the latest matchbox 20 song (he LOVES matchbox 20, and he thinks Billy Joel R-O-X rocks) for his ring tone and checks his voice mail every 40 seconds. He will also become addicted to Snake.
Chris Thile of Nickel Creek is getting married. I am so sad! I can't believe he didn't even call to tell me himself. Sigh. Guess I really am stuck with Geoffrey. ;)
Mr. Robot Man and I bid you a pleasant and positive day.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I am Web Master. I skate on the edge of danger." -- Geoffrey Chandler, in full dork voice, as he copied and prepared to paste a bit of "code," as the kids call it.

I have a blog! Which must mean I have something important to say. Um.
Do you like Mr. Robot Man? He will EAT YOUR SOUL if you are not careful. So be careful, OK?
What I promise: NOTHING! I don't have to update this every day, but I can if I want to. I can be funny and/or interesting ... or even, dare I say it? Piquant! ... But I don't gotta. I don't know HTML, not a stitch, so don't be askin' me about a Web site, suckas. OK, so them's the ground rules. Hope you have fun reading this.
CD of the moment: (stole that from Marcus, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, doncha know. And besides ... Mr. Robot Man said it's OK ...)
