Hello.
My name is Stacy. And I have a problem.
I am addicted to "Melrose Place" reruns. Yes, yes. I realize this is very lame. And I thought I could stop anytime I want. But I can't. The main problem (but maybe I'm just making excuses) is it comes on every morning in the hour before I leave for work. So I'm usually just kind of chillin' by then -- already dressed and showered, just kind of killing time before I have to catch the train. So I turn on the TV, and I try to watch something else, I do. But I always somehow end up on "Melrose." Even more dangerous is the fact that at this time it plays on both E! and the Style Channel. So I can choose my own "Melrose" adventure. I usually end up flipping back and forth between an old-skool episode (on E!) or a later one (on Style). Which can really fuck with your brain. But I digress. Today's episode was the one where Michael tries to kill Sydney (the sister of Jane, Michael's ex-wife, of course) like 8 times during their honeymoon, but he can't do it because he's a doofus. Michael's soooooo evil. Anyway, I don't know why I'm admitting this. But I feel better now, a little.
There is progress with the wedding planning! The reception spot has been chosen -- it shall be the Atlanta Brewing Company in fashionable Midtown Atlanta. Very hip and mod decor, nice casual atmosphere. Free-flowing beer brewed on site. Oh. Yes. The date (and don't worry -- real invitations will be issued) is Friday, Nov. 14, hopefully avoiding any conflicts with Saturday SEC games. This is the reality you face when you plan a fall wedding (reception) in the South. I accept this.
Today a homeless guy was walking down the street with a boombox blasting -- I mean blasting -- smooth jazz. I guess it was smooth jazz. It sucked real bad, whatever it was. Very much resembled something you'd hear on the Weather Channel. Shudder.
Just thought I'd share.
LISTENING TO: OK, well I haven't listened to it yet, but I will soon and I'm very excited. Southern Rock Opera/DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS. Lots of hype with this album, a concept album type thing that should be listened to in one sitting, I'm told. So soon I plan to make the time to digest it. I bet it will be yummy!
