If I didn't already live life without the faintest intention to ever enter, let alone buy anything from, an Abercrombie & Fitch store, I'd adopt a boycott now. As it stands, I'll just adopt yet another blog name change, pretty much same reason as before. And same time span, likely. Apparently A&F takes legal inspiration from Fox News. Long story short, they're suing American Eagle Outfitters for using the number "22" on their clothing. Did A&F copyright the number 22, then? Well, noooooo. But people could get confused because they've seen that number on A&F apparel before! Here's the story. For any 22-year-olds who might read this site, well, I'm sorry. You'll have to find another age now.

All this is making me think maybe I should copyright -- or make claim to -- something. I think the color blue is mine. MINE MINE MINE. The sky just better watch out for me, 'cause I'm a-gonna sue it for stealing MY color. Harrumph. I think maybe while I'm at it, I'll claim D-flat. And the lines on notebook paper. And bread.

LISTENING TO: Damien Rice/O. Actually heard him first on VH1, of all places. Finger was all ready to jab the remote to another channel, but -- my God! -- I liked what I was hearing! And the video was people playing instruments and singing! No booty-shaking at all, zero bling! Geoffrey and I bought the album, and the whole thing is just marvelous. I've heard Damien Rice compared to Ryan Adams and David Gray, and I would say this is valid. Mellow, good lyrics. Interesting instrumentation. I highly recommend.

OK. Here's why I'm going to continue to avoid elevators, and to not trust them when I do have to be in one of the horrid death-boxes.

Looks like all the attention prompted by the Fox lawsuit has pushed Al Franken's book -- which doesn't even come out for another month -- to No. 6 on the Amazon.com bestseller list. You can't buy that kind of publicity, it was nice of Fox to save Al the money.

Oh, well looky there. Looks like suddenly my blog has a new title. And no, it's not because I'm copying Mean Man. It's only temporary. It's because Fox News is stupid. And they deserve my scorn and ridicule. So, though several days late, I'm participating in "Fair and Balanced Day," wherein blog keepers collectively chap Fox News' hide by using their beloved -- and copyrighted -- slogan "Fair and Balanced," which they have sued Al Franken for using in the title of his new book (and I must give mad props to the rest of the title, which is "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them:" etc. Agree or not, it's just a funny title, eh?). Read all about the collective scorn here. And then just for kicks type "fair and balanced blog" in Google and see what happens.

The Daily Show apparently did a segment on Fox's lawsuit. I didn't see it myself, but I'll trust Boing Boing, who quoted this from the segment: "If anyone knows about blurring and tarnishing 'Fair and Balanced,' it's Fox News."
